Currently, he is the senior attending surgeon of the Vascular Surgery Section and the leader of the vascular intervention team at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital.
He graduated from the medical school of National Taiwan University in 1992 and completed his fellowship as a Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. With extensive experience of vascular and endovascular surgery, he had committed himself to research as well as the clinical treatment of vascular diseases, such as aortic, peripheral arterial and venous disease. He's now an active member of many renowned professional societies, such as Taiwan Society for Vascular Surgery, International Society for Endovascular Specialists, and Society of Dialysis Access Specialists. Dr. Ko has shown strong interest in clinical innovations regarding thoracic & cardiovascular diseases and holds several related patents. In addition to more than a hundred publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, he has been constantly giving lectures at lots of renowned international symposiums ( such as VEITH, LINC, ASVS, JET, ISVS…etc.) in related fields. He had established the first dedicated multidiciplinary vascular intervention team in Taiwan, comprised of both surgeons and radiologists, dedicated to the endovascular treatment of aorta pathologies and peripheral vascular disease. The Vascular Intervention Team in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital focused on minimally invasive treatment of all kinds of vascular disease such as Thoracic aortic aneurysm, abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortic dissection, peripheral arterial occlusive disease, varicose veins and vascular access. he is currently the senior medical consultant of PW clinic in Linko, New Taipei City. |
